Popia OtakOtak Tuna

Ingredients

  • 7-8 popiah skin
  • 1 can of tuna
  • 1 teaspoon of chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 5-6 dried chilies (soak in water first)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. First, prepare the filling. Heat up some oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add in the tuna, chili flakes, salt, pepper, cumin powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Stir fry until the tuna is cooked.
  3. Next, blend the dried chilies into a paste and mix it into the tuna filling.
  4. Take one piece of popiah skin and place a spoonful of the tuna filling in the middle. Roll it up and seal the edges with the beaten egg.
  5. Repeat until all the popiah skins are used up.
  6. Heat up some oil in a pan and fry the popiah rolls until they are golden brown in color.
  7. Let them cool down for a bit before serving.
